Uyole Community Development Training Institute (CDTI Uyole) is a public institution under the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, mandated to provide education, training, research, and consultancy services in community development and related fields. Established to support Tanzania’s commitment to social and economic transformation, the Institute has played a significant role in producing qualified community development practitioners who serve in government institutions, local government authorities, non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and the private sector throughout the country.

Over the years, CDTI Uyole has evolved into a reputable centre of excellence for community development education and training, equipping students with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to address contemporary development challenges. The Institute offers competency-based training programmes that promote community empowerment, participatory development, social inclusion, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.

The Institute is registered by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) under Registration Number REG/PWF/027 and operates in accordance with national education and training policies, regulations, and quality assurance standards.

The governance and management of CDTI Uyole are guided by the Ministry responsible for Community Development and relevant government directives, ensuring effective institutional leadership, accountability, and quality service delivery. Administrative and academic functions are coordinated through the Office of the Principal and implemented by various departments and units responsible for academic affairs, administration and human resources, finance and planning, student services, information and communication technology, quality assurance, and research and consultancy.

The Institute embraces principles of transparency, accountability, professionalism, innovation, and stakeholder participation in all its operations. Through strong partnerships with government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, and local communities, CDTI Uyole continues to contribute to national development by preparing competent professionals capable of facilitating sustainable community transformation and improving the quality of life of Tanzanians.
